Snapper, 2001 and Murray, December, 2004
This picture was taken just before Christmas in 1994. Snapper was 2 years old, and her baby, Murray, was 8 months old.
Snapper was a sweet soul, a wonderful mom and a shy follower in the herd. I lost her at the age of nine in 2001.
Murray was shy and skittish; his nickname was "Nervous Murvous". He always cocked one ear, like he was always listening for something. He was also my loudest goat, and you knew everything was right with the world when he called out every morning for his breakfast. The pasture's pretty quiet now; Murray went to the Great Green Pasture in the Sky in December of 2004 to join his mom at the Rainbow Bridge. He was 11 years old, and gave me much joy in those 11 years.
